Homage to Montmartre Series 2005-2006

In 2005 I began “Homage to Montmartre,” a series of four acrylic on canvas paintings inspired by the revolutionary cubist paintings of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Cubism radically changed modern painting in the early 20th century. For me personally, in 1967 when I was studying art history in high school, cubism opened my mind to what could be, it became the inspiration and the motivation I needed to become an artist.
